Right now, I am someone who…
/Here’s a writing prompt to take into the week ahead:
Right now, I am someone who…
Complete that sentence. Ask this of yourself over and over again because you’re more than just one answer. You’re many answers, many ways of being.
There’s always that question: Who are you?
But that question feels daunting to me. It’s too big. Too final. We’re all always becoming. So how about this question instead (and this question over and over):
Who are you right now?
Right now, I am someone who…
Is waiting on many answers.
Is tired of waiting.
Is learning to pray for patience.
Is learning how to be happy for people who have the things I’m still working towards.
Is working towards those things, one impatient or patient day at a time.
Is a little bit stuck. Isn’t sure what to write or what to share.
Is going to write and share, anyway.
So—who are you right now? I’d love to know. Leave a comment below.
Thanks for reading.
